Walking Dead Season 8 Spoilers Are Nj Beaches Open Again
Spoiler alert! The following contains spoilers forThe Walking Expressionless Flavour eight Episode 6, "The King, the Widow, and Rick." To read our recap of Episode 5, click here.
It's a wonder that the characters onThe Walking Dead have survived for and so long.
Sometimes, like in Sunday's episode, fifty-fifty the best and smartest of the agglomeration make the worst and well-nigh ill-advised decisions, and it'southward exasperating to scout. Coupled with the wheel-spinning of this boring episode, "The Male monarch, the Widow, and Rick" concluded up being a dull and frustrating outing forThe Walking Dead.
Daryl, Tara, Rosita and Michonne are set up for the war with Negan to be over, and we agree, the "all out war" storyline should wrap upwards every bit soon as possible and hopefully the series tin get some energy back.
Behind enemy lines
At some point, they're going to stop having the same argument almost the POWs over and over again, correct?
This should exist an interesting storyline, with someone in the series choosing peace over violence for once. But for some reason,The Walking Dead can't think of anything to do with information technology other than to accept Jesus make the aforementioned argument to different disagreeing people — start Tara then Morgan and at present Maggie.
We didn't really brand whatsoever progress in this episode (other than to lock upwardly Gregory, which was pretty satisfying). Maggie may have seemed like she was wavering on letting them live, but the hardened "Widow" she'southward become since Glenn died isn't messing around with the Saviors.
Only at least she's getting some parenting practice with that babe Rick and Aaron kidnapped?
How to win friends and influence walkers
We suppose information technology'south so solitary and boring in Alexandria that every character has to have a gigantic gamble by leaving the secure town and doing something impaired, and then we really shouldn't be too surprised at Carl's actions.
Long the torchbearer for bad decision making on this show, Carl left Alexandria this week to pursue the man he met in the season premiere, who nosotros learn is named Siddiq. He seems to be a relatively harmless guy, on his own only trying to kill equally many walkers equally possible, in order to free their souls, every bit his mother believed. Carl asks him those standard "three questions" and decides he's a cool dude, so in that location definitely won't be any problems with him, right?
Maybe he just misses Enid who, past the way, convinced a grieving Aaron to have her out into the war zone. Besides a great plan.
Four's company
How many times has one of our heroes tried to "terminate information technology" with Negan and the Saviors? And how many times hast that worked?
Equally glad equally we were that Michonne and Rosita got up off the demote (both are characters who elevate near whatsoever episode they are in), their piddling adventure had a few too many coincidences. They simplyhappened upon the merely ii Saviors exterior of the Sanctuary who had a great plan to relieve Negan? And Daryl and Tara justhappened to bear witness up with a large rig at the right moment?
Information technology was all in service of getting this reckless foursome together and willing to do anything to get the Saviors, fifty-fifty after Daryl told Rick he would stand up down. If Daryl still wants to blow the Sanctuary open up, he has a slightly improve squad now. Simply still, experience says that the disharmonize with Negan is not going to terminate with a small group. It'due south going to be big and bombastic and will certainly involve Rick. Annihilation less simply wouldn't feel similarThe Walking Dead.
'A' garbage burn
But fifty-fifty though the serial seems to be moving towards a climactic battle involving Rick'due south plan, the man himself isn't making a peachy case for information technology. Then what, exactly, is the big plan? Apparently, information technology'south to render to the garbage people who betrayed him just days agone, alone, and need that they join his side again, or else. And the result? Rick's naked, and a prisoner in a shipping container that now has the alphabetic character "A" written on it, which is never a skillful sign on this testify (you'll recall the letter A was used past Terminus, showed up before Sam and Jessie died in Alexandria, and was on Daryl's sweatshirt in captivity in the Sanctuary).
Somehow this will chronicle to the larger plan (hopefully). But nonetheless, no one is thinking specially clearly this episode. And they need to if they're going to go out of the messes they've fabricated for themselves.
